With over two decades of mastering the visual arts — without a single day of formal training — Sameer Belvalkar stands as living proof that true artistry cannot be taught, only discovered. Mumbai-based and internationally recognised, he has built one of India's most distinguished photography practices through instinct, experimentation, and an uncompromising eye for beauty.
Sameer has photographed Bollywood's greatest — Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Kajol, Kareena Kapoor, and Shah Rukh Khan — and delivered landmark campaigns for Jodhaa Akbar, My Name Is Khan, and We Are Family by Dharma Productions. Everything You Need to Know
Applicants submit a form with their portfolio and pay a one-time application fee. Shortlisted candidates are invited for a one-day model shoot in Mumbai. They then submit edited photos and/or video footage for jury evaluation. A Winner and Runner-Up are declared in Photography and in Cinematography at the B.A.S.E. Gala.
The 2026 jury is led by Sameer Belvalkar — Mumbai's leading commercial and celebrity photographer with 20+ years of experience, a TEDx speaker who has worked with Dharma Productions (Jodhaa Akbar, My Name Is Khan) and brands including Samsung, Nikon, Tata Group, and Tanishq.
All equipment is to be provided by you — your camera, lenses, lighting (if needed), and all accessories. B.A.S.E. Awards arranges the location and models for the shoot day. This ensures every applicant is judged purely on vision and craft using their own tools.
The one-time application fee is ₹590. This is non-refundable and covers the review and shortlisting process. Payment is processed securely via Razorpay.
Yes. Select "Both Photography & Cinematography" in the application form. Your portfolio will be assessed for both disciplines.
Our team reviews every submission personally. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted via email and WhatsApp within 2-4 weeks of application closure.
Terms & Conditions
Eligibility
Applications are open to individuals aged 18 and above. Self-applications and third-party nominations are both accepted. Applicants must be available for a one-day shoot in Mumbai if shortlisted.
Application Process
Submission and payment do not guarantee selection. All applications are reviewed by the B.A.S.E. jury. The jury's decision is final and binding. B.A.S.E. Awards reserves the right to disqualify any application deemed incomplete or misleading.
Application Fee
The application fee is non-refundable. Payment is processed securely via Razorpay. Successful payment grants you a registered application status — it does not guarantee shortlisting.
Shoot Day — Equipment & Location
Shortlisted candidates must bring all their own equipment (camera, lenses, lighting, accessories, storage media, batteries). B.A.S.E. Awards provides the location, models, and on-set coordination. Travel and accommodation to Mumbai are not covered unless explicitly specified.
Intellectual Property & Co-Ownership
All photographs, video footage, and creative work produced during the B.A.S.E. Awards official shoot day are jointly co-owned by the creator (photographer/cinematographer) and B.A.S.E. Awards (Qnox Advertising). B.A.S.E. Awards (Qnox Advertising) reserves the perpetual right to use, reproduce, distribute, exhibit, and publish such work in any medium — print, digital, broadcast, social, or promotional — for any purpose including marketing, editorial, brand campaigns, and case studies, with full credit given to the creator. The creator may use the work in their personal portfolio and for self-promotion with appropriate credit to "B.A.S.E. Awards 2026".
Portfolio Submissions
Submitted portfolio links and pre-existing work remain the sole property of the applicant. B.A.S.E. is granted a non-exclusive licence to view and reference submitted portfolio work solely for jury evaluation.
Information Accuracy
All submitted information must be accurate and truthful. False information results in immediate disqualification without refund.
Conduct
Applicants and shortlisted candidates are expected to maintain professional conduct at all B.A.S.E. events and shoots. Any unprofessional behaviour may result in disqualification.
General
B.A.S.E. Awards reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel any part of the awards process. These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

We collect your name, email, WhatsApp number, city, and portfolio URL upon form submission. We also collect technical information including IP address, browser type, and campaign tracking parameters (UTM, click IDs).
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to: process your application, communicate about your status (via email and WhatsApp), inform you of future B.A.S.E. seasons, and for internal analytics. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Payment Information
Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card or banking details. We retain transaction IDs and payment status for record-keeping.
